“The passing of Charlie Watt’s has really brought back some memories. I just remember it all as amazing. It was the show that opened the Stadium in Adelaide and I was in Year 11 or maybe it was 12. What year was it? I’m not too sure but it was the same year of Jagger's girlfriend L’Ren Scott’s suicide.
Both Mum & Dad were on holiday and then us kids came down to join them. The 14 on Fire Tour – that’s what it was. My Dad has always been a Rolling Stones fan. I remember so many stories of his passion for the Stones from well before I came along. He’s pretty addicted. And I guess he turned me into a Stones fan too.
Anyway, the Stones – how on earth can you describe them? It’s probably all been said before. But that’s what epic rock concerts do, don’t they? They bypass words. And they go straight for the jugular.
Going to that show altogether - it’s a really amazing family memory. I remember coming out of the show and the endorphins were absolutely pumping and we were all so happy and so pumped up. And everyone’s singing and walking back to the hotel singing all the songs and all together. Wow it was special. Such a good time. I hope those times come back. Sometimes it can be hard to imagine.”
